Altar Server Schedule

Altar Servers may be scheduled to serve at a consistent Mass time or may be listed as Substitutes, serving only as needed when the scheduled server is not available.

Who are Altar Servers?

Altar Servers are boys and girls, men and women, who serve God and their community during liturgy.  It is recommended that an Altar Server be in the 4th grade or higher and possess the maturity to carry out the duties of the ministry.

What do Altar Servers do?

V     Prepare for their service with prayer

V     Arrive 15 minutes before Mass begins

V     Carry the processional cross

V     Hold books for the Priest

V     Carry incense and the censer

V     Assist the Priest when receiving the gifts of bread and wine from the people

V     Wash the hands of the priest

V     Respond to the prayers of the Priest along with the assembly

V     Join in the singing of songs with the assembly

V     Learn more and more about the Mass by their active participation

V     Offer cheerful and generous service to our parish family
