Parish Connection

If in parish boundaries, parish registration must be completed prior to baptismal sessions.

· Those non-parishioners who have family members who are parishioners, must have permission letter from their respective parish prior to registration for Baptismal Sessions  (i.e. family members, Grandparents, godparents, etc.)

Godparent

“...the

godfather

and

godmother

..must be firm believers, able and ready to help the newly baptize, child or adult, on the road of Christian life.”  (CCC#1255)

· Choice of godparents are to be faith filled , practicing  Catholics who are committed and can be a Christian witness to your child. 

· Godparents are to be 18 yrs or older; someone other than legal parents and has completed sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

· Godparents who are man and wife, must be married in the church and provide copy of marriage certificate.

· Godparents are required to  attend preparation sessions. If  outside of parish, letter from  their parish documenting their training is required.

· Complete Godparent Application and submit prior to the baptismal session.

Documents

· A copy of the official state birth certificate is required. .A hospital certificate is not acceptable.

· Application for baptismal session is to be completed and submitted with the  copy of the official birth certificate prior to baptismal session.

Interview

· Baptismal sessions must be completed prior to scheduling of interview.

· Interview required prior to selecting date for baptism
