Confirmation Preparation Process
Sacrament of Confirmation
“But
you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be
my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth."
Acts 1:8
The
following is a list of components which make-up the Confirmation process
here at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. These components are intended to help
you, the parent, make decisions which prepare your teen for the spiritual
formation that lies ahead.
Our
Lady of Guadalupe requirements for the Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation Eligibility:

Junior or Senior in high school.

Confirmation Candidates should express a readiness and
desire for the Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation Candidates must also have a willingness to
continue one's faith formation beyond the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Confirmation Candidates must participate in the
Confirmation process of preparation and accept the gift of the Sacrament
with all its responsibilities.

Confirmation Candidates are required to be registered in
the Parish and for Religious Education prior to enrolling into the
Confirmation Program.
*Juniors and
Seniors who have not yet received Eucharist will be asked to spend this year
in preparation for Eucharist and will then be eligible for Confirmation the
following school year. Those having no prior religious education
participation will be asked to spend this year in OLG Life Teen or another
Catholic based religious education program and will be eligible to
participate in the Confirmation preparation process in the following school
year.

Adult Confirmation
Young Adults and Adults
Catholic adults and young adults who were never confirmed are invited
to participate in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Preparation
is open to:
- Young Adults who have graduated from high school and who
have already received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Eucharist (First
Communion).
- Adults who have received the Sacraments of Baptism and First
Eucharist (First Communion).
Questions about Adult Confirmation, the
process at Our Lady of Guadalupe or other confirmation programs (adjoining
local parishes, Cathedral, Newman clubs, etc.) around the city can be
