There is more to this challenging job than just being a stay-at-home mom! Join the M.O.M.s for sharing, caring, and learning with other moms just like you! M.O.M.s is a support group for mothers with children of all ages. We meet in the Guadalupe room of the Parish Community Center on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 9:30 – 11:00 am, to share experiences, joys, and concerns. Membership is non-denominational, and everyone is welcome! Bring a friend. Childcare is provided in our nursery. Meetings might include a book study, videos, guest speakers, cookie exchange, holiday celebrations, crafts, or just time to become better acquainted with new Christian friends. As we laugh over common experiences and give support during trying times, many close friendships have developed.
Making the most of being a mom. M.O.M.s members are an active bunch! In addition to our twice-monthly meetings our M.O.Ms group also has several other activities to choose to participate in:
·
· Bible Study - Meets the 4th Monday of each month. The Summer/Fall study is “The Mysteries of the Rosary.” The next study begins in January. · Mom’s Night Out – 2nd Monday of each month moms gather for an activity selected by a member of the group. Activities frequently include movies or restaurants. · Prayer Chain – Emails/calls to the group to let them know of a special need for prayer or support for a member. On top of all of these wonderful activities there are our get-togethers with our husbands and children, purchasing gifts for the giving tree, meals for new additions to the family and much more.
All Moms are Welcome! Then the M.O.M.s group helps us get our backpacks together! Members sign up each month to be responsible for organizing various activities, and we’ve found this to be the best way to get acquainted. Our group shares responsibilities to keep the members of our group active. The following members are currently serving:
*Book Study – “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” By Mitch Albom “An enchanting, beautifully written novel about heaven and earth. In this story heaven is not a lush Garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people who were in it. These people may have been loved ones or distant strangers. Yet each of them changed your path forever. One by one the five people illuminate unseen connections to the earthly life. This original story will [make you ponder] everything you have ever thought about the afterlife---and the meaning of our lives here on earth.” |
