I would like to inform our parish community of a new assignment for Fr. Jesus, our parochial vicar. Due to an urgent need to place a priest at St. Joseph Church, Del Rio, Archbishop Gomez has assigned Fr. Jesus as administrator of the parish. The current religious order of priests at St. Joseph has decided to return to Mexico. As of September 1st, Fr. Jesus will begin his assignment in Del Rio. We will have a farewell reception for Fr. Jesus on the weekend of August 30/31. In the meantime we will be in a time of transition with the Weekday Masses and help with substitute priests on the weekends. I will be working on the schedule of upcoming weddings, Quinceañeras and baptisms that were posted in the calendar by Fr. Jesus. We have no one to replace Fr. Jesus as parochial vicar at the present moment, but I am working towards the possibility of getting another priest to help us. Many thanks to the committee of Olivia and Louis Alvarado in helping us with the farewell reception for our intern seminarian, Valentin Gallegos this weekend. God bless you all. Fr. Carlos
